Learn to Skate Classes for 2025 are scheduled for:

  • January 6 to March 15 (registration now closed)
  • March 24 to May 31 (registration now closed)
  • June 2 to July 26 (8 week session*, registration open April 15-June 14)
    *Saturdays are 7 weeks due to the July 4th weekend
  • July 28 to October 4 (10 week session, registration open June 23-August 9)
  • October 6 to December 20 (10 week session, registration open August 18-October 18)
Whether you’re brand new to skating or looking to improve your skills, our Learn to Skate classes are perfect for everyone! We use the popular Learn to Skate USA program, designed for all ages and skill levels. Our certified instructors will help you learn to skate, whether you’re interested in hockey, figure skating, or just want to have fun on the ice.
 
What’s in the Program?
  • One 30-minute class on your chosen class day.
  • Learn basic balance and skating techniques.
  • Build confidence and agility.
  • Perfect for aspiring hockey players, figure skaters, or recreational skaters.
  • Classes are structured and guided by certified instructors.
  • Are you completely new to skating? We’ve got some info for new skaters that may help.
 
Registration Details:
For beginners and those new to group classes, please choose from the following class options:
  • Snowplow Sam 1 (ages 3-5)
  • Hockey Skating 1 (ages 6-15 New to Hockey?)
  • Basic 1 (ages 6-13)
  • Adult Hockey Skating (ages 15+ New to Hockey?)
  • Adult 1 (ages 13 and up)
If your desired class is full, please attempt to select another class time or day. If the class listing states it is full in the drop-down list, this means all class days are full, and we generally cannot make exceptions to this.

Rental skates are included for beginning skaters. Skaters in advanced levels (Free Skate and Specialty classes) need their own skates for safety.

Current Class Offerings:
  • Monday: Snowplow Sam 1-4, Basic 1-6, Adult 1-6, Pre-Free Skate, Free Skate 1-6, Specialty Spins class, Edge & Choreo with Liz.
  • Wednesday; next session starts 6/4): Snowplow Sam 1-3, Hockey Skating 1-3, Adult Hockey Skating
  • Thursday: Snowplow 1-4, Basic 1-6, Adult 1-6, Pre-Free Skate, Free Skate 1-3, Adult Free Skate, Specialty Ice Dance class
  • Saturday: Snowplow Sam 1-3 for Hockey, Hockey Skating 1-3, Adult Hockey Skating, Snowplow Sam 1-4, Basic 1-6, Adult 1-6, Pre-Free Skate, Free Skate 1-6, Specialty Spins class, Specialty Jumps Class, and Power Skating with Liz.
  • All specialty classes are available for drop-in by our higher level skaters for $28 through July 26th, $30 per class after July 28th. 
 
Additional Information:
Please note that the availability of schedule change requests may be limited due to class capacity. We cannot accept transfers or new enrollments once a class reaches capacity.

Homeschool Learn to Skate Registration

Returning August 14th, 2025! Homeschool Learn to Skate Classes at Ice & Field are scheduled for Thursdays at 11:00am.

2025-26 Homeschool Class Schedule:

  • 8 Week Session, August 14 through October 2, 2025
  • 10 Week Session, October 9 through December 18, 2025*
    *There will be NO CLASSES on Thanksgiving, November 28!
  • 10 Week Session, January 8 through March 12, 2026
  • 10 Week Session, March 19 through May 21, 2026

Registration Details:

For beginners and those new to group classes, please register for Basic 1 (expanded class offerings for tots and adults are available through our regular Learn to Skate program).

Advanced Skaters: register for your appropriate level, and only register for the next level once you have completed all skills in the previous level and have passed your evaluation.

Rental skates are included, except for skaters in advanced levels (Pre-Free Skate and above), where they need their own skates for safety.

Payment Plan:

We are pleased to introduce a new payment plan option, with a deposit of $100 for 8 week sessions and $125 for 10 week sessions The deposit is required at the time of registration to secure your spot in the class, with the remaining balance due on the 1st of the month following your deposit if you opt for a payment plan. However, full payment can be made at any time before the scheduled date by logging into your online account and settling the remaining balance.

Adaptive Learn to Skate Classes

Adaptive Learn to Skate Registration

Coming Fall 2025! First session begins on September 4th, 2025!

Our Adaptive Skating Program offers one-on-one instruction tailored to individuals with physical, cognitive, sensory, or developmental disabilities. This inclusive program is designed to help skaters of all abilities build confidence, coordination, and joy on the ice in a supportive environment. Each session includes 4 weeks of class for $80. Open to skaters of all ages with disabilities or special needs—no prior skating experience required.

Adaptive Learn to Skate Session Schedule:

  • Adaptive Learn to Skate Classes at Ice & Field are scheduled on Thursdays at 6:00pm.
  • September 4 Week Session, September 4  through September 25, 2025
  • October 4 Week Session, October 9 through October 30, 2025
  • November/December 4 Week Session, November 13 & 20, December 4 & 11, 2025


What’s in the Program?

Our Adaptive Skating Program is designed for individuals with physical, cognitive, sensory, or developmental disabilities who want to experience the joy of ice skating in a safe and supportive environment. Following the Learn to Skate USA Adaptive Skating curriculum, each skater receives personalized, one-on-one instruction tailored to their individual needs, strengths, and learning style.

This program focuses on developing balance, coordination, strength, and confidence while fostering independence and fun on the ice. Instructors adapt techniques and equipment as needed to ensure a positive experience for every participant.

  • 4 week session for $80
  • One-on-one instruction with our certified instructors
  • Open to skaters of all ages and abilities
  • No prior skating experience is necessary

Whether your goal is to build confidence, work on basic skating skills, or just have fun, our Adaptive Skating Program meets each skater where they are—and celebrates every success along the way.

Registration Details:

New adaptive skaters may register at any time – as there are no make-up classes available for Adaptive classes at this time, the remaining classes will automatically be pro-rated.

Expanded class offerings for skaters of all ages are available through our regular Learn to Skate program.

Rental skates are included for skaters in all beginner classes. Skaters may opt to purchase their own skates at any time – this may be helpful for those with sensory issues as having your own skates allows for a more consistent fit.
